{"id":837,"date":"2012-09-20T11:28:52","date_gmt":"2012-09-20T09:28:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/doublebassguide.com\/?p=837"},"modified":"2012-09-20T11:31:35","modified_gmt":"2012-09-20T09:31:35","slug":"isb-launches-podcast-and-needs-theme-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doublebassguide.com\/?p=837","title":{"rendered":"ISB launches podcast and needs theme music"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ISB is about to launch a new podcast called &#8220;Speak Low,&#8221; hosted by\u00a0<em>Bass World<\/em>\u00a0editor Kyle Gassiott, and\u00a0it needs theme music!<\/p>\n<p><em>Here&#8217;s how to enter:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Entry is free, but if you&#8217;re a double bassist you must be a current ISB member (<a href=\"http:\/\/r20.rs6.net\/tn.jsp?e=001YfgoxwEMtOXugyuGArzlxztnVgwXupILdTmLsJ6kkKRJkDkRXjwK3WbfSIBUzD6rNiIUan2TfObAX_R59o4CXy2n7yzTFwqEeElTO4BC6JVIhg20nLG-2eMwfuUWPuNl9AIRroNRDVA=\" shape=\"rect\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.isbworldoffice.com\/join.asp<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Entry should be from one to five minutes long,\u00a0of any musical style\u00a0and\u00a0never before commercially recorded\u00a0(unless the composer self-released\u00a0the CD)\u00a0for solo bass or double bass in a featured role in an ensemble. Remember, this will be a theme for a podcast\u00a0show called &#8220;Speak Low,&#8221; so take your inspiration from that idea.<\/li>\n<li>The winning theme will be featured briefly at the beginning and end of the podcast as background music for a voiceover. The composer&#8217;s name will be announced at the end of every podcast where the theme is used.<\/li>\n<li>The composer will allow the winning entry to be used by the ISB in perpetuity and without compensation, for any purpose, but he or she\u00a0will own the copyright and be able to record and perform the music in the future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For an example of how theme music works really well in an audio broadcast, check out ISB member<strong>Ben Allison&#8217;s<\/strong>\u00a0composition for the National Public Radio show &#8220;On the Media&#8221; at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/r20.rs6.net\/tn.jsp?e=001YfgoxwEMtOVl8_Y0Qh5NhoA3LClqQDagdUS1jdHAaG8X-Ee4-kAY3AjdFIqrncnBOpGxBZRpfWmCvHdzab_TmB1GjzBJ1UFeb-ovA-ZItmzbm5TSvAdthg==\" shape=\"rect\" target=\"_blank\">www.onthemedia.org<\/a>\u00a0and click on &#8220;This Week&#8217;s Show&#8221; at the top of the page for a listen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Submit your entry BY SEPTEMBER 30, 2012<\/strong>\u00a0as an MP3 file along with name, address, telephone, cell phone and email address to\u00a0<em>info [at] ISBworldoffice\u00a0[dot-com]<\/em>.
